I remember the first real camera that I got.  It was a Pentax K1000 film camera that I bought used from a photographer in Kalamazoo.  The first time I took pictures with that camera I was hooked on photography.  I couldn't believe the controls that I had at my fingertips.

Than was38 years ago, wow!  Photography, and I have come a long way since that time.  Digital photography was a huge step for me.  I could learn in real time rather than taking a picture and waiting for the film to be processed.  I could also access all of the amazing content on the Internet.  I have taken classes about composition, camera usage, wedding photography, posing, editing and everything in between.

Another big step for me was joining my local photography club.  The Charlevoix Photography Club is filled with members that willingly share their expertise.  The club also brings in speakers, schedules outings and does trips together.

I have a passion for taking pictures of people and capturing moments.  I take the posed pictures, but I live for the candid moment when the child whispers in the mom's ear, or the bride looks adoringly over at her new husband.

I want magic, and I almost always finding it in the unscripted moments.
